AI regulation and enforcement
Which AI-related matters has the FTC brought?
Method: the FTC’s own Cases and Proceedings listing, filtered to its own industry tag labelled “-Super Intelligence” under “Technology” in the filter form’s own options (field_industry=2389) — the FTC’s taxonomy term for AI-related matters, confirmed by reading the matters it returns (deceptive AI writing-tool claims, an AI chatbot, AI-driven surveillance technology, a facial-recognition system). Kept only where the FTC’s own listing codes the entry as a case (a complaint, consent order or administrative action with its own FTC matter or docket number); commissioner statements, speeches and policy posts sharing the same tag are excluded, since none is an enforcement action. This is a record of FTC actions against companies; reviewed by hand this run, none of the 13 case titles names an individual respondent (NETWORK-RULES §3.3/§6 — see About and methods).
