What helps

For an incident: a link to the organization's own statement, a regulator filing or established press coverage.
For regulation: the official text or the regulator's announcement, and the date it takes effect.
For a correction: the page address, the statement in question and a source showing the correct fact.

Tips are treated as leads, never as facts. Nothing is published from a tip until it is confirmed by a source we can cite. Read how we verify pages.
